How Altha Alchemy looks after the personal information you share on this website.
Last updated 15 October 2026.
Who is responsible for your information
This website is run by Altha Alchemy, a Reiki and SOMA® Breath practice in Colton, East Leeds. Liv, who runs the practice, is the “data controller”: she decides why and how the personal information described here is used.
If you have a question about any of it, write to info@althaalchemy.co.uk.
If you send an enquiry
The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and your message. Your phone number is optional. You also tick to say you agree to this policy, and you can tick a separate box if you would like news and updates.
The form emails your enquiry to Liv and sends you a short confirmation. It is not saved in the website’s database, so it lives in our email inbox. We use it to reply to you, and for nothing else unless you ticked the news and updates box.
If you book a session or an event
The booking window asks for your name and email address, and optionally your phone number. We also keep:
- what you booked, and the date and time;
- whether you ticked each consent box, and when;
- whether the payment has been made, with the reference numbers Square gives us for it.
This is stored in the booking records on the website. We use it to hold your place, send your confirmation email from bookings@althaalchemy.co.uk, and contact you about your session if we need to. We keep payment records because the law requires us to keep accounts.
Paying through Square
When you choose to pay, you are taken to a payment page run by Square (Block, Inc.). You type your card details there, not here. Altha Alchemy never sees or stores your card number; Square tells us only that the payment went through.
Square handles what you give it under its own privacy policy, at squareup.com/gb/en/legal/general/privacy.
The health and safety form
For some sessions we send you a link to a health and safety form. It is a Google Form, so what you write in it is held by Google, in Liv’s account. It exists so that your session can be adapted safely to you.
Information about your health is more sensitive than most, so we only ask for it with your agreement, and you can choose not to answer a question. Tell us if you would like your answers deleted.
News and updates
If you tick the box asking for news and updates, we may occasionally email you about upcoming events, new sessions and offers. We do not do this for anyone who has not ticked it. To stop, reply to any email with “Unsubscribe” or write to info@althaalchemy.co.uk; it takes effect straight away.
Cookies and analytics
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you will allow analytics cookies. Your answer is remembered in your browser (in its local storage, not in a cookie) so that we do not ask again.
Essential only. Nothing is loaded and nothing about your visit is sent anywhere. The site does not set any cookies of its own for ordinary visitors.
Accept all. We load Google Analytics, which helps us see which pages are read and how people find us. It sets two cookies: _ga (identifies a returning visitor, up to 2 years) and _ga_* (session information, up to 2 years). We ask Google to shorten visitors’ IP addresses, and we use no advertising or social media tracking. Google may process this information outside the UK; see policies.google.com/privacy.
You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie Preferences” in the footer. The site’s fonts and videos come from our own server, so loading them does not tell anyone else you were here.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your information or give it to anyone to market to you. The only people who handle it are those we need in order to run the site and the practice:
- Square takes your payment.
- Google provides the analytics you choose to allow, and the health and safety form.
- Our web host stores the website, its booking records and the emails it sends, and keeps routine server logs that include visitors’ IP addresses.
Where one of these is based outside the UK, your information is covered by the safeguards UK law requires.
Testimonials and reviews
The quotes on the Testimonials page and the home page were given to Liv by clients, and appear under the name given with them. If you would like yours changed or taken down, write to info@althaalchemy.co.uk and it will be done.
The link to Google reviews takes you to Google, which has its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: 6 years, which is how long accounts must be kept.
- Enquiries: up to 12 months in our email inbox.
- Health and safety forms: 12 months after your last session.
- News and updates: until you ask us to stop.
- Analytics: for as long as Google’s own retention settings allow.
After that, it is deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us:
- for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- to correct anything that is wrong;
- to delete it, or to limit how we use it;
- to send it to you, or to another provider, in a usable format;
- to stop using it where we rely on our own legitimate interest;
- to take back any consent you have given, at any time.
Write to info@althaalchemy.co.uk. We may need to check it is really you, and we will reply within one month. It costs nothing.
If you are unhappy
We would like the chance to put it right first, so please write to us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If what the site does with your information changes, we will update this page and its date. This version is from 15 October 2026.
